Job Title: Foundation Design Engineer

Role Synopsis:

Includes basic civil/structural design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a CB&I project including specific complex deliverables such as tanks, structures, modules, foundations, and other site facilities.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and construction documents
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines
  • Ensures effective management of change
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: BSCE/MSCE
  • Years of Experience: 5-15 years
  • The position requires a dynamic geotechnical/structural engineer who is capable of performing "hands on" geotechnical and structural design related to foundations for storage vessels and other structures
  • The applicant will be expected to review/process geotechnical information and provide recommendations and designs for structure foundations
  • This person will also need to have a good understanding of the typical general civil issues related to foundations and general civil engineering work including seismic issues
  • A professional engineering license is preferred
  • The applicant will need to be able to travel to construction sites and/or customer offices as needed
  • Applicant will need to be a team player, have good communication skills and good project management skills, as well as a cooperative spirit
  • This position requires a good geotechnical background with a desire to perform structural foundation design
