The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is a AAA Four Diamond resort located in the shadows of the McDowell Mountains. This business and leisure property is an integral part of the exclusive, 730-acre master-planned community of Kierland which features upscale residences and dozens of shops, galleries and restaurants. Be a part of a Front Desk Team that provides exceptional service to our Guests at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa! This destination provides visitors an inspirational vacation retreat settled just south of the beautiful McDowell Mountains.

We are currently searching for a Front Desk Agent to inspire our Guests as they begin their memorable visit. The selected individual will be responsible for creating the ideal first impression in welcoming Guests upon arrival - and wishing them well upon departure. Minimum of 1-2 years front desk experience required. This individual will possess previous hands-on customer exposure, specifically within a high guest contact environment (hotel, resort, or country club preferred). Computer competency is necessary, including exposure to Galaxy, Light Speed, or other similar hotel Property Management Systems. Problem-solving, initiative, and organizational skills required. Requirements

POSITION PURPOSE
Attend to guests' needs, including, but not limited to, registration, checkout and cashiering. Patrol property to provide a secure and safe stay for the guest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

AVERAGE % OF TIME

50% Greet and welcome guests upon arrival. Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation, address, and credit information. Promote the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and provide recognition and benefits to all present members.

40% Accept payment for guests' accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout. Maintain a house bank and make a deposit and accurate report of receipts daily. Cash checks and exchange currency for guests. Issue key to and control entrance of safety deposit boxes. Post miscellaneous charges as requested

10% Provide Security patrol of property, participate in investigations and follow incidents that may occur.

Other:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
