We are currently seeking a driven and talented full-time or part-time Law Clerk/Legal Intern to assist our Intellectual Property Group with our continually growing practices in electronic and software-related technologies.
Evaluate industry patents.
Generate patent portfolio analysis.
Review current documentation for compliance with local and federal law.
Work with inventors and attorneys to coordinate disclosures.
Prepare legal memorandums regarding current IP issues.
Work on Patent acquisition projects.
Identify landscape for IP protection outside of the U.S.
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with strong academic credentials.
Completion of at least a 1 year at an accredited law school is a plus.
Availability to commit to 15-40 hours/week during a standard (8 am – 5 pm) work schedule.
Experience with Patent Law, preferably with computer software and business methods, is a plus.
U.S.P.T.O. registration is beneficial but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills required.
Knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules, regulations is beneficial.
Strong computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel, Delphion, and public IP Databases.
Must be creative, confident, well organized, flexible, and a self-starter.
