Global integration firm in Alpharetta seeking a seasoned QA Engineer for their expanding workload. This is a long term contract with the potential of converting to perm for the right candidate! The Sr. QA Engineer is responsible for development, publishing, and implementation of test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed applications throughout the full life cycle of the software. You will test development builds, conduct formal test releases, do preliminary customer releases, and final release candidate installations of software for functional completeness, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability issues.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for the following:
Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products. Works collaboratively with development during all stages of projects to provide in process testing results. Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing. Responsible for the overall success of testing. Manages assigned projects from Quality Testing through final User Acceptance Testing. Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load, performance, and system testing. Performs API level, system, Black Box functional testing, regression, UI, load, performance, and White Box testing. Capability to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion and good judgment. Records and reports on testing metrics. Track and report defects using appropriate tools such as JIRA. Ideal candidate has 6+ years experience as QA Engineer testing web-based enterprise applications. Must have experience with FTP/sFTP software, XML and EDI X12 formats, Soap UI or other XML testing technologies, Web Services/API testing and experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle. Must have ability to extrapolate "positive" and "negative" test cases from available data and specifications. Must have demonstrated experience in personally authoring and executing extensive test suites based on requirements and specifications when available. Background check and drug screen responsible.
