We need a talented individual to fill the role of Mechanical Engineer. In this position you will assume the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES: A. SYSTEM ENGINEERING AND DESIGN INCLUDING:
Design & develop new mechanical equipment & systems, including CAD
Model and analyze components and systems to validate designs
Enhance and cost reduce existing products
Support our manufacturing and suppliers to produce products you engineer (hands on experience is preferred)
Cultivate strategic partners for engineering input beyond our capabilities
Strive for high tech features at lowest manufacturing costs and shortest lead times in all areas of product responsibility
Focus on ease of operation, high reliability and manufacturability
Assist sales personnel and application engineers in creating sales presentations, drawings, specs, and system concepts to help get POs
Be a team player and assist others as requested to fulfil our company goals
B. DOCUMENTATION SUPPORT FOR "A" ABOVE:
Produce 2-D and 3-D models in AutoCAD and Inventor
Generate installation drawings and system wiring diagrams
Create and revise Bills of Material using INMASS
Generate Engineering Change Orders
Select vendors to assure best cost and lead time
Generate and modify user manuals, calibration procedures
Generate and modify assembly and/or production test procedures
C. EVALUATION SUPPORT FOR "A" ABOVE:
Conduct in-house performance tests
Build and evaluate prototypes (hands on experience is preferred)
Troubleshoot production and customer problems as required
Work closely with production and customer service personnel to train them and/or assist them in satisfying customer needs
Generate test fixture specs, fixtures, procedures as necessary to support production and/or customer requirements
Perform field tests, evaluations, and/or repairs (as necessary) to support customer service and assure customer satisfaction with our equipment
Manage engineering programs assigned to you including scheduling, hardware & personnel allocation, and any other requirements necessary to assure customer satisfaction
D. REQUIRED SKILLS TO SUPPORT A ABOVE
Adept at using AutoCAD 2000 or later to create system and machine layouts
Experience in 3D design and assembly (Autodesk Inventor Preferred)
