The Manager of Organizational Development will partner with business leaders to design, develop, deliver, and assess organization interventions, programs, and processes that support Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) business strategy using adult learning theories, facilitation principles, and pre-determined metrics. This position is responsible for ensuring that management development programs are consistent and foster significant improvement for both leaders and the organization. This position will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, directing, and evaluating an organization wide, competency based program to further the development of MWHC. The Manager is responsible for coordinating the management orientation program, management training, Associate Opinion Survey, and other related OD initiatives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Consult with a wide spectrum of MWHC Directors, Managers and Associates to assist them in identifying issues affecting productivity within individual departments.
Instruct Associates and Managers at all levels through a variety of instructional methodologies and develops customized training components as needed.
Coache Managers in the performance of operational tasks (goal setting, planning, problem solving, and facilitating the work of others)
Utilize a consultative approach to surface the needs of the business units using a variety of methodologies to analyze and diagnose performance gaps within the business units.
Provide thought leadership on the design and transfer of OD tools.
Design and execute OD programs in one or more of the following areas: change management, coaching, leadership development, team development, organizational assessments, performance management and succession planning, competency modeling.
Develop quantifiable metrics to measure ROI and effectiveness of OD/Training initiatives.
Act as a consultant and advisor to internal customers and management.
Continuously monitor and analyze existing OD programs to identify opportunities to enhance processes to better meet organizational needs.
Assist in the design, organizational alignment, oversight & evaluation of the School of Leadership.
Design, facilitate & evaluate leadership training classes.
Assist with Associate Recognition Program.
Coordinate the Associate satisfaction initiative and follow up process.
Manage new manager orientation and mentoring.
- Master's in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field is required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience in Training and Development or related field required.
- Supervisory experience is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Strong computer skills relevant to the position are required.
