Position Summary: ECOtality North America is currently looking for a Product Engineering Manager with experience in product development for electronics-driven, high-power (>10kW) battery charging products; experience with battery charging systems and/or power electronics will get special attention. This position reports to SVP Engineering. Responsibilities: · Builds and leads a small team of engineers to develop and support high-power battery charging systems for industrial applications. · Works with marketing and sales executives to define roadmap, requirements and cost targets for new products.
Works with project managers to define scope, specifications, schedule and budget for product engineering tasks. · Provides engineering support to customers and manufacturing partners for existing product · Maintains knowledge of technology developments in related industries. · Interfaces and directs external engineering resources · Interfaces with safety certification bodies (UL, TUV, ETL, etc.) · Develops IP and support filing of Patent Applications. · Sets policies for and manage electronics lab.
Delivers quarterly reports on the progress of R&D to senior management. Education, Skills and Experience: · Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or computer science · Demonstrated experience leading a product engineering team (3-7 years) · Electronics hardware and embedded firmware development (5-10 years) · Power electronics design and development a strong plus · Design for electro-mechanical assemblies (5-10 years) · Mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes and techniques (3-5 yrs) · Product certification (UL or other NRTL) (min 2 yrs) · Experience with large motive power batteries a plus · Planning and organizing skills · High level of initiative and assertiveness Must be authorized to work in the United States (Citizen or Resident Alien) Salary Range: $XX,XXX - $YY,YYY per year Essential Job Functions (Americans with Disability Specifications) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
