TMS is the top provider of entertainment information, creating industry-leading databases of TV, movie, and celebrity information for entertainment guides and applications that serve over 100 million consumers. Our customers and partners include innovators like Twitter, Roku and Netflix, as well as the top consumer electronics and cable companies throughout the US and internationally. Our data provides you with an opportunity to impact the evolution of the entire entertainment industry.
We are looking for a driven Database Architect to become part of our small, agile team based in San Francisco (other locations will be considered for excellent candidates) working on next-generation entertainment datasets, where you will contribute directly to internal and customer-facing software. Here you'll get a chance to work in a fast-paced environment, learn on your feet and perfect the data that drives entertainment products used by consumers around the world.
What do we offer?
Truly satisfying work: If you like TV and movies, TMS is the place to have an impact on some of the biggest platforms out there. You'll also have the chance to launch new products and take full ownership instead of working only on features like you might in a larger team.
A startup-like environment: Enjoy working in a small, autonomous team with smart, committed folks, but without the grind of a startup.
Fun and perks: From board game lunches to go kart racing, Giants games and Tough Mudder competitions, we do plenty besides just work hard. On top of it all, you get the perks of an established, profitable company with full health insurance, matching 401k, vacation and of course a competitive salary.
We are looking for a talented Database Architect to design, architect, and develop our global data store infrastructure, which is used to support the data needs of thousands of major customers such as DirecTV, Google, and Twitter. This is an exciting position that offers the opportunity for a talented technologist to take our database infrastructure to the next level, using both relational and non-relational database technologies.
Develop database architectural strategies to ensure overall scalability and performance for both our business and consumer businesses.
Design databases to support new and existing products and applications.
Revamp and migrate legacy databases to modern technologies.
Over 3 years of experience designing and developing large-scale databases.
Extensive experience of at least two of MySQL, Oracle, Sybase, and PostgreSQL.
Experience with MongoDB and other NoSQL technologies.
Extensive experience with query analysis and optimization.
Knowledge of and experience with Amazon Web Services and associated ecosystem a plus.
Experience with ORMs a huge plus.
