We are searching for Customer Support Engineers to join our Engineering team. The support engineers an integral part of the engineering team and work on solving customer development engineering problems using Timesys Embedded Linux and technologies.

The successful candidate will be a team player and fast learner, working closely with and providing timely and detailed technical support to our customers and partners. The candidate will be required to immediately immerse him/herself into Timesys° technology and offerings so as to understand our products thoroughly and to assist our customers in recreating and resolving issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Be responsive and empathetic to customer issues
  • Resolve installation and configuration issues by remote diagnosing and recreating issues
  • Assist customers with Linux cross-development environment setup and getting started with embedded Linux challenges
  • Resolve documentation errors by correcting them, testing new documentation and creating application notes
  • Resolve build issues by remote diagnosing and recreating issues and work with Timesys engineers as required for resolving the issues
  • Work through more advanced run time issues by recreating and assisting Timesys engineering for resolving the issues
  • Escalation of customer and partner issues to Customer Support Management, Engineering, and Sales Account Managers

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT (with S/W development emphasis)
  • Unix/Linux System Administration
  • Experience with installation, configuration and customization of Fedora, Ubuntu, and/or Debian is a big plus
  • 2+ years working experience in a Customer Support or IT role
  • Customer (external or internal) interaction background a big plus
  • Excellent and demonstrable written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
