Position Description and Responsibilities:
will support the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Enterprise Processing Center (EPC). This role will be focused in the Linux technical area of the Service Integration Delivery (SID) team. The SID team provides IT Service Management to the DISA production infrastructure support teams. Team responsibilities include supporting ITIL based incident, change, problem, and release and project management processes; maintenance scheduling; system upgrade and new system build support; application and database management; and other infrastructure support tasks. The production environment is a mix of physical and virtual servers, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows Server platforms. Applications supported are SAP ABAP and Java stacks, JDA Manugistics, Oracle Database, Weblogic Application Server, and other custom and packaged software systems.
Examples of support tasks include:
Support development of system designs, design reviews, knowledge transfer, implementation plans, and implementation for enterprise production center initiatives
Learn systems and architectures to assist data center team responsible for implementing all production change, break / fix work, and new releases / builds
Support changes, impact analysis, and design updates to the systems
Interface with client and customer administrators, project managers, and architects
Track proposed changes through development and test landscapes
Track completion and handling of all change management activities to production
Assess and determine resolution to non-standard/standard performance related issues largely on own initiative
Assist with the program releases and application upgrades. Support releases and teams needed for upgrade work
Help architects design solutions in support of data center administrators, DLA infrastructure representatives, and EBS Sustainment technical architects
Assess, determine and direct resolution of application and infrastructure issues largely on own initiative
Provide on call and weekend support on a rotation basis for maintenance windows, program releases, and troubleshooting. Properly escalate to data center support teams as needed to resolve issues. Oversee these activities as needed
Minimum of 1.5 years of Linux experience
Minimum of 1.5 years of Incident Management experience
Minimum of 1.5 years of Change Management experience
