Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) has an immediate opening for a Network Systems / Telecommunications Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDAIS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDAIS and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
Network Systems / Telecommunications Engineers analyze, design, develop and test GDAIS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional Responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for GDAIS operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. These individuals may also be asked to document security on both new and current information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.

Skills

Must be able to understand and have real working knowledge in the following -

Routing and switching - VLANs, OSPF, static routing

Design and maintenance of Local area networks

Visio experience

Subnetting

LAN troubleshooting

VoIP - Protocols such as SIP, RTP and MGCP at a minimum. Configuration of VoIP in a medium to large capacity.

MUST be willing to learn or possess telecommunication / WAN skill set -

SS7

Circuit switch technology

GSM and CDMA

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance GDAIS technology.

The Network Systems / Telecommunications Engineer position requires a bachelors degree in a specialized area, field or the equivalent and at least eight to ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a masters degree and a minimum of six to eight years of related experience are also eligible.

TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

VLANs, OSPF, static routing

Design and maintenance of Local area networks

Visio experience

Subnetting

Cisco experience. Other router and switches experience is a plus.

MUST be willing to learn telecommunication / WAN skill set -

Circuit switch technology

GSM and CDMA

Cellular equipment

MUST be willing to travel out of country for short training sessions, once or twice a year .
