GENERAL SUMMARY: Supervises various wireless telecommunications self-perform construction tasks including tower erection, hybriflex cable, coaxial and antenna installation and required RF/fiber optic testing and related tasks. Manages and directs the activities of multiple functional areas of construction including MMBS installation, DC power installations and RF/Hybrid fiber cable installation and testing.
Knowledge of Wireless processes and deployment of Microwave, Fiber, LTE or WiMax networks is required.
NOTE: Employees at this level are typically responsible for more than 100 sites and have budget responsibility of more than $1M.
1.Leads multiple self-perform crew who performs various construction tasks in the areas of tower erection, hybriflex cable, coaxial cable and antenna installation, RF/fiber optic testing and troubleshooting.
2.Uses complex test equipment, power tools and hand tools related to tower and RF installations.
3.Estimates time and materials costs of various projects.
4.Requisitions new supplies and equipment.
5.Performs all work in accordance with established OSHA and General Dynamics safety procedures.
6.Provide guidance, training and work leadership to direct subordinates.
7.Supervises the day-to-day workflow of subordinate construction workers.
8.Coordinates construction scheduling, material and communicate to project management concerning costs, progress and delays through effective written and verbal reporting.
9.Assigns crews and employees tasks to maximize productivity, minimize costs, and maintain quality.
10.Performs advanced construction tasks such as material forecasting to meet client specifications and schedules.
11.Reviews, compiles and reports on operations records, such as inspection reports, tool, and equipment reports, material usage, and safety reports.
12.Provides overall administrative and technical direction, enforces company and project policies, and insures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
13.Coordinates construction scheduling and communication and acts as a liaison to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, progress and delays.
14.Participates in special projects as required
Bachelors Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
Experience managing teams of self-perform crews
Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast paced environment
8-10 years of related construction experience, including supervisory experience of self-perform crews.
1.Effective management , forecasting and reporting skills.
2.Advanced knowledge of safety guidelines and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the telecommunications construction field.
The work is typically performed at client site locations or in an office environment, which requires proper safety precautions; work requires physical effort in the handling of materials, tools or equipment as required.
If the activities/responsibilities of this position require the incumbent to use a personal, rented, leased, or a company owned vehicle to drive on behalf of WS, the candidate's driving record will be reviewed and will be used in assessing suitability for placement. Such activities/responsibilities include: Driving to, from, and/or between work sites or WS business locations; driving to/from customer/vendor meetings; driving to transport or retrieve documents to/from customer/vendors or any place of business; or, driving in conducting office errands where running errands is a part of the customary activities/responsibilities of the position.
