Koch Pipeline Company, L.P. (KPL) is looking for a Mechanical Technician who is able to make sound economic decisions, ensure incident prevention, drive predictable execution and achieve competitive results. A successful candidate for this role will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of pipeline and station assets.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of positive displacement and centrifugal pumps 5hp to 2000hp
Responsible for maintenance of valves, actuators, tank mixers, and all other types of pipeline mechanical equipment
Accurately document operational activities which will require computer work, including using Microsoft Office products and electronic work orders
Other tasks include: measurement, facility station checks, and responding to customers’ needs
Compliance responsibilities include equipment inspections, documentation, and training requirements.
Two years of work experience in mechanical preventive or predictive maintenance
Experience working on Positive Displacement, centrifugal pumps or compressors
General valve maintenance experience
Computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and ability to learn to use proprietary databases
Verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver's license
Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
One year mechanical experience in the pipeline industry
One year Liquid Pipeline Field Technician experience
6 months experience on large, horizontal, split case, multi-staged centrifugal pumps, or can pumps
Valve repair experience on any type of slab, ball, wedge, twin seal, or butterfly valves API process pump experience
2 year Technical School Degree - Mechanical/Engine Repair, Industrial Maintenance, or Gas Compressor Repair
Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment
Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions
Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment
Position requires the ability to be on-call on a rotational basis and to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response
Position requires travel of up to 20%
Position requires the ability to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test
Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Position requires the ability to respond to assigned assets within 30 minutes
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical
This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identifications Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge within a specific time period.
