Micron technology is a leader in the semiconductor industry developing and manufacturing DRAM and NAND Flash products. As part of the continued growth in NAND Flash, Micron has established itself as an important supplier for the emerging and rapidly growing Solid State Drive (SSD) market. As an SSD Customer Applications Engineer at Micron, you will work as an integral part of the customer support team to provide storage systems applications expertise for pre and post sales support to our leading OEM customers.

Your new responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following areas:

Working with FAE teams to understand and provide level 1 FA for customer reported issues in a timely manner

Working with the Technical Customer Manager and the Customer to qualify our SSD products in their systems by supporting technical problem resolution and communication of issues

Working with internal Engineering teams to resolve Customer problems and communicate solutions and corrective actions effectively

Working with Engineering support groups and the customer to identify and create customer specific documentation or specification deviations

Working with the Customer in identifying and documenting qualification testing requirements and driving that communication back to Engineering

Creating and releasing product support documentation including customer specific product data sheets white papers, and application notes


Successful candidates for this position will have:
A minimum of two years of design, product, test, support, system, or applications engineering experience

Systems experience, including:
Experience in SSD and or HDD failure analysis

Operating systems (installation/configuration/management)

Device drivers & Firmware (installation/troubleshooting)

Storage devices (installation/configuration/troubleshooting)

Working knowledge of SATA, SAS or PCIe interfaces

Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Excellent verbal and written communications skills both face to face and teleconferencing

Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined abilities

Ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions

Solid personal computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Oscilloscope and logic analyzer experience

Detailed knowledge of NAND Flash, solid state drives, and or hard disk drives

Ability to travel and be available for international travel

A minimum of a BS or BA in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related degree.
