Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for a full-time faculty position for Computer & Information Technologies. Potential candidates should have experience and knowledge related to multimedia, web design, internet technologies, information security, networking, computer repair, computer programming, and/or other related topics. The full-time instructor will teach at least 15 credit hours per semester, and be responsible for academic advising, professional growth, institutional service, and participation in continuing education/community service.
Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching, working with a diverse population, and support the community and technical college mission. The full-time instructor will need to possess the following basic skills: computer skills, writing and organizational skills, strong communication and interaction skills, and familiarity with online teaching technologies. Assignment may include online (Learn-by-Term and Learn-on-Demand) and in-person (evening and/or off-campus) courses.
NOTE: This position is a full-time in-person faculty position. Selected applicant will be teaching a combination of in-person and online courses.
Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities and prepares learning materials.
Provides instruction to students in the particular area of web design, internet technologies, information security, networking, computer repair and other related topics.
Prepares lesson plans (as needed) and maintains records and reports on student attainment, attendance/activity and progress.
Utilizes approved online course templates and syllabus format; maintains classroom order and discipline.
Conducts internal and external service and values lifelong learning through continuous self-improvement and professional development growth.
Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline from an accredited institution;
3-5 years of experience in discipline area.
