Sr. Linux System Administrator

We are looking for a Sr. Linux Administrator to help us architect and maintain our Linux server and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, articulate, and intimately familiar with Linux operating systems and software, provide sound proofs-of-concepts, willing to perform cross-functional duties as necessary, and have a proven history of creating tools and automating routine IT/Business tasks.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to, the administration, support, and maintenance of the following:

Support and deploy mission critical, customer facing, front-end and back-end production environments
Interacting with the Engineering for supporting/maintaining/designing backend infrastructure for product support
System Administration (Red Hat/CentOS)
Performance tuning, monitoring, maintaining fault tolerant/HA infrastructure
Active Directory/LDAP integration with Linux
Disaster recovery design, implementation, and maintenance
NOC run books, procedures, diagrams of the environments you deploy
End user support for system infrastructure (server and network)
Troubleshooting and resolution of server/network issues
Proactive monitoring of server systems
Participate in long-term strategies
Writing of tools, scripts, etc., as necessary
On-call as needed with participation in 24X7 support

The ideal candidate would have broad IT skills covering:
Automation/scripting
VCS/SCM (Git preferred)
Configuration Management (Puppet preferred)
Database system administration skills (Postgres and or mySQL)
LAMP (Apache HTTP and Apache Tomcat)
Experience with Apache Rewrites and regular expressions
Linux LVM
Security best practices
Experience with performance monitoring, Linux tuning
Working knowledge of industry standard protocols (TCP/IP, LDAP, Kerberos, etc.)
Strong understanding of the HTTP protocol
Virtualization (VMware preferred)
Working knowledge of load balancing technologies (F5 preferred)
SNMP
BIND

The Following skills are desired, but nor required:
Should have strong skills in at least 1 language: PHP, Perl, Bash, BASH, or Python.
Cisco UCS
Splunk
NetApp
Solarwinds
Intrusion detection (IDS/IPS)

Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
8+ years experience working as a Linux Administrator
Strong technical and analytical skills
Highly organized, able to multi-task, the ability to work individually, within a team, and with other groups
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels

The candidate should be able to discuss and explain their experiences as they relate to the job responsibilities and requirements.
