This job posting is no longer available on Find similar jobs:Associate System Administrator jobs - jobs is seeking an Associate System Administrator to work in the company's Data Center Operations (NOC) group. This position will work a morning shift (6am to 3pm) although periodic pager duty and some weekend and night work will be required. This position is primarily responsible for level one/two diagnosis, troubleshooting, and escalation of network and/or system (Linux/Windows) issues. In addition to monitoring and emergency response the successful candidate will perform system administration tasks such as deploying and configuring new Windows and Linux servers and system management.

We are a very fast-paced environment with an abundance of interesting challenges for an Associate System Administrator. We house a couple hundred production, staging, and corporate systems, storage area network, load balancers, and more in an enterprise-class datacenter.

In addition to the attributes below, the successful candidate will possess a well developed understanding of computer science and networking concepts, be highly analytic and organized, possess a meticulous attention to detail and be comfortable working within strict operational boundaries and procedures.

A BA/BS in CS, EE, or Math from a four year university is required. Recent graduates are invited to apply.

Required Skills:
Basic server OS administration concepts, logging, troubleshooting, etc.

Understanding of system/application and services.

Basic understanding of security, authentication, and networking principles

Experience with Windows server platforms, IIS, AD

Ability to navigate a Unix/Linux system via command line to perform basic tasks.

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and great perseverance when problems arise. Works well and with a "cool-head" under pressure.

Capable of working effectively and efficiently with little social interaction and direct management oversight.

Capable of multi-tasking when needed yet committed to seeing projects through to completion.

Well developed understanding of basic networking concepts (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, router,


Effective and precise verbal and written communication skills

Any level of experience with the following is a plus:
Basic understanding of data center operations and best practices

OS administration experience on Win2k/2k3/XP/Redhat/CentOS/Gentoo.

Cisco networking equipment

MS SQL Server
