Summary Statement & Purpose

To provide direct patient care by utilizing appropriate knowledge and skills in collaboration with other members of the health care team. To provide skilled, creative, discipline-specific therapeutic services to a caseload of patients (this includes evaluation of all assigned patients, the development of a patient centered treatment plan, administration and implementation of the treatment program, periodic reassessment and discharge planning). Each Therapist is responsible for the health and safety of all patients in his or her care. Physical Therapists may clinically supervise assistants, aids, students, volunteers or other supportive personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Staff Clinician 1: Graduate of approved program and Washington State licensure, or eligible. Less than two full years-licensed relevant clinical experience.
  • Staff Clinician 2: Graduate of approved program and Washington State licensure, or eligible. Two or more years license relevant clinical experience.
  • Staff Clinician 3: Graduate of approved program and Washington State licensure, or eligible. More than five years of relevant clinical experience with at least two years in a specific program area as well as 24 hours continuing education in specialization.

Able to:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to push and pull objects up to 30 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis.
    • Occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis.
    • Occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Ability to carry objects up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis.
    • Occasionally up to 30 pounds, unassisted.
  • Full use of gross and fine motor skills of the upper and lower extremities (i.e., treatments, writing notations, operating bed wheel locks, etc.).
  • Ability to read charts and testing equipment.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens- Category I
