(Temporary Assignment)

The RMA Technician is responsible for performing server repairs and service. You will be responsible for diagnosing problems, including problem recognition, research, isolation, and completion of resolution steps. Candidates for this position should be excellent communicators with fundamental problem-solving and analytical skills, be detail-orientated and well-organized, and have a very strong commitment to client service. Strong technical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues is valued, and you must be able to perform effectively with high quality with little direct supervision. In conjunction with your job duties, you will be responsible for repair/replacement and/or integration of electronic and non-electronic components, wiring, and cabling per customer requirements.

Specific Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:
Assumes final responsibility for quality and quantity of servers repaired Represents Germane at client locations, as needed Shares department workload, repairing computer servers to technical and client specifications Completes required information (forms/on-line) for hardware configuration, troubleshooting, defective equipment, and updates repair status correctly and in detail Follows operations manual, written instructions, defined best practices and guidelines in quality assurance for wiring, cabling, and system configuration Makes recommendations for, and implements improvements to, processes and procedures Performs troubleshooting and repairs as needed Completes management reports as needed/requested Performs other duties as assigned in support of the supervisor

College education or continuing education/certifications preferred A+ certification desirable 5+ years experience as a computer repair technician or equivalent Germane experience Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and repair to customer and technical specifications Prior experience with on-site customer repair highly desirable Knowledge of and experience with PC hardware integration Knowledge of system and network configuration Knowledge of Linux extremely helpful Must have the aptitude and ability to learn or knowledge of required business applications Written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate clearly to all interested parties Prior experience troubleshoot computer equipment failures Must meet expectations in both quality and quantity of products repaired Ability to work with limited or no supervision, including the ability to problem solve before escalation to supervisor Must demonstrate ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Must have an excellent understanding of manufacturing processes Must be highly organized and detail-oriented Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner Maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure Ability to use independent judgment Ability to analyze and make recommendations Must be proactive vs. reactive; anticipate problems before they arise and develop a different course of action to avoid customer impact Must be computer literate Must always make decisions based on what is best for the customer US Citizenship required for direct customer interaction or travel to customer sites Ability to Travel up to 25%, occasionally without notice to meet customer expectations Ability to work overtime is required, including early mornings and late evenings and weekends.

Job Details:
Full-time Temporary (40 hours per week) / No Benefits 3 Month assignment / Eligible for extension. Conversion to full-time permanent employee after 6 months a possibility. US Citizenship required for on-site repairs Travel required (overnight and day trips / expenses paid by Germane) Monday – Friday 7:00 – 3:30. Overtime required at this time 7:00 – 5:30 Monday – Thursday / 7:00 to 3:30 on Friday and the occasional Saturday. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
