The ITS Operation provides engineering services primarily to the commercial nuclear industry including accident analysis, modeling, simulation, hydraulic testing, engineering design, and regulatory support.
Associate engineers are provided with on-the-job training in modeling, simulation, analysis, and testing related to the operation of nuclear power plants. Engineers provide support for a variety of projects with increasing responsibility based on experience. The project support typically involves performing calculations, analyzing data, preparing and reviewing technical reports, developing models, running simulations, and supporting hydraulic testing.
B.S. in mechanical, nuclear, or chemical engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience (M.S. degree is beneficial)

Solid technical writing skills. Able to clearly and concisely present methods, calculations, and results for various engineering analyses
Good verbal communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with other engineers, project managers, and clients in person or over the phone
CAD modeling experience. Alion primary uses Inventor and AutoCAD software
CFD modeling experience. Alion uses Flow-3D and STAR-CCM+ software to model a variety of fluid flow problems
