Role and Responsibilities
Monitor Security Incident Event Manager (SIEM) and report as appropriate
Monitor IDS alerts and report any HIGH's
Monitor Antivirus Definitions and report on any that are older than 5 days
Monitor for rogue devices and report
Create/Manage Remedy tickets
Serve as tier 1 incident response, providing “first call” resolution for 60 to 70% of all incidents.
Perform ISVM compliance scans
Perform scans that ensure operating systems are in compliance with baseline standards
Review logical access logs (user access)
Review physical access logs (building access)
Analyze logs further using log management tools
Monitor for unauthorized wireless devices using wireless detection tools
Using NetBackup NOM, monitor and resolve backup issues
Perform backup tape rotations
Create user accounts
Troubleshoot and resolve server related problems, escalate problems to Tier III technicians when necessary
Shift work is required – 12 hour shifts (Three days on, four days off, four days on, three days off = 84 hours per pay period)
Essential Job Functions
Assists in developing and maintaining routine account/region standards and procedures; ensures that configuration management controls are capable of supporting deployment activities and implementations to meet business needs.
Assists in interpreting configuration management activities and tools as defined for the account and applies them to project configuration management activities.
Assists project personnel in decomposing configuration items into appropriate configuration units for the specific project or task.
Ensures version control integrity for software and non-software components by monitoring code libraries and document repositories.
Assists in auditing configuration management activities by validating results against the baseline. Reports findings to project manager.
Assists in developing technical installation guidelines and other documentation of hardware and software standards to facilitate tracking. Assists customers and support personnel in understanding product configuration.
Linux and/or Windows Server (2003, 2008) Administration experience (1-3 yrs)
Associates Degree with two years of related experience.
Equivalents: High School diploma with four years of specialized experience in related field, or Bachelors or Masters Degree with no experience.
Security+, Network+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), MCP and/or other relevant security/OS/network certifications
High school diploma
Zero or more years of experience in configuration analysis
Experience working with distributed computer systems, software and associated communication networks
Experience working with networking principles and local area networks
Experience working with company software and hardware products
Skills in configuring and installing various operating systems and application software
Communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel
Analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technological problems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
