As Programmer Analyst for the EPPM (Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management) application, this individual provides support with application analysis, design, programming, and implementation as well as on-going production support skills to solve client business application needs.
Additionally, this individual writes code, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains this packaged system while adhering to standards within the department and company. Analyzes programs to make adjustments required to correct or enhance the functionality of an application.
The EPPM application is an HP web based product, running on Linux servers with an Oracle backend. Three environments are hosted out of RDC & MCNC (Development, Test & Production). Responsibilities will include applying service packs and new releases and code migrations between environments.
EPPM is an IR-wide tool that provides a single system of record for information on all existing and potential projects.
EPPM is a highly configurable application. Responsibilities will include configuration of EPPM dashboards, requests and reports to meet IR project planning needs.
Product documentation for EPPM is very good. This position will have responsibility for maintaining system documentation and support procedures.
Supports existing systems and small system development projects
Assumes the on-call function as required
Works with clients on small projects in support of new and existing systems by translating client needs into functional requirements and detailed specifications
Evaluates programming alternatives and recommends those that best meet client needs while conforming to standards and processing environments
Prepares detailed specifications for translation into structured application programs, conforming to IR SDLC methodology and standards
Designs the systems test requirements to ensure fail-safe integration of programs into production systems
Organizes and conducts systems integration tests
Performs 2nd level support as required, keeping user informed of resolution
Writes/revises program documentation, application operational procedures and client user guides in accordance with IR standards and client needs, utilizing documentation version control
