The Senior Product Analyst reports to the Manager of State Reporting, Quality Management Reporting. An understanding of state mandated rules and regulatory compliance is preferred. The Product Analyst role is crucial to ensuring compliance with state mandated reporting rules. The position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day workflow for state reporting and meeting state mandated deadlines. Requires detailed knowledge of requirements gathering and documentation practices. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets state mandated reporting rules. Leverages analysis to write detailed requirements documentation. Communicates requirements to program developers. Understanding of software development methodologies required to write technical specifications. Performs QA testing to ensure the program output meets state mandated reporting rules. Understands patient data sensitivity and possess working knowledge of the security measures available for protecting the data. Assists facilities in research and error correction of data submissions to remain below acceptable error thresholds. Responsible for incident management from triage to resolution and identification of root cause. Performs data analysis of submission errors to identify root cause and drives efforts to apply permanent fixes in source systems or works in conjunction with Business Owners to improve operational processes to prevent errors. Creates and maintains product documentation. Provides end-user training for internally developed systems and the submission method utilized by facilities in the mandated state reporting process. This position works directly with the operators in the facilities, HIM Shared Services Centers, the divisions, and the representatives of the state agencies. Acts as the liaison for client facilities with State Agencies and state appointed Intermediaries. Interacts with various stakeholders, including Business Owners, Vendors, State Agencies, State Reporting Intermediaries and facility representatives.
Responsibilities include:
Management of state submissions, error correction process, resubmissions, data analysis, and incident resolution
Process improvement activities, documentation development, providing education to facility representatives and project activities
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have 3 - 7 years relevant work experience in the following areas:
Required: A minimum of 3 or more years combined applied experience in Medical, Healthcare or Hospital Environment
Required: A minimum of 3 years or more end user experience with software systems
Preferred: Demonstrated experience in establishing and strengthening relationships

Ability to use database query tools and/or experience with using Business Objects to perform data analysis

Preferred:
Experience working with state data initiatives and/or UB-04 billing information
Experience with Clinical HIS systems
Experience with Business Intelligence Tools
Working knowledge of 837 Institutional or Encounter data elements
Knowledge of project lifecycles
Understanding of Lean or Agile, including process improvement methods and software development principles
