Receives calls from outside and inside the hospital PBX system. Greets and directs outside callers to appropriate destination, locates hospital personnel and determines action in order to advance a call. Acknowledges and gives information, uses multiple paging systems to locate and alert hospital personnel and medical staff in addition to connecting callers to extensions and outside phone lines. Represent the Medical Center with a helpful attitude and a pleasant voice in assisting patients over the phone system. As a "first contact" for Medical Center customers, promotes a positive image, often under stressful conditions. Performs procedures required to acknowledge and execute Critical Plant Function and Life Safety Systems. High school diploma preferred. Two plus years of college, or two plus years of secretarial/business school preferred. Must have telephone work experience, a strong customer service background and must be able to multi-task. Typing skills of 35 cwpm preferred. Basic computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word and Excel.Must have excellent verbal communication skills and a pleasant telephone voice.
