Avaya Government Solutions has an opening for Computer
Security Systems Specialist located in San Antonio,
Texas.
The applicant conducts information systems/networks
security assessments of DoD networks worldwide. Conducts
audits to ensure systems are being operated securely,
and information systems security policies and procedures
are being implemented in accordance with DoD
Instructions, DISA STIGs, and vendor security best
practices. Develops, tests, and operates firewalls,
intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus
systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the
network against unauthorized infiltration, modification,
destruction or disclosure. Researches, evaluates, tests,
recommends, communicates and implements new security
software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates
and develops security policies or plans for data,
software applications, hardware, telecommunications and
information systems security education/awareness
programs. Conducts investigations of computer security
violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to
AFNETOPS. Responds to queries and requests for computer
security information and reports.
The applicant must demonstrate a solid understanding of
Cisco, UNIX and Microsoft operating systems to include
basic administration skills for Windows 2000 and 2003
and Active directory. An understanding of networking
devices such as routers, switches and hubs as well as
networking concepts such as the OSI model is required.
Job Requirements: Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
Experience: 0-5 yrs
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree or
equivalent and 0-5 years experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years Microsoft or Unix System
Administration experience
Scripting experience in Unix and windows
CompTIA Security+
MCP, Linux +, CCNA, or Database Certification a plus
Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Good verbal and written communication skills
Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and the ability to
obtain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is required. An
active Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly desired.
