Provides the overall leadership and direction for production personnel involved in the conversion of raw materials to finished product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Provide leadership to day to day process improvement using critical success factors to ensure all production conversion of raw material to finished product targets are met.
Provide leadership to develop a cohesive, independent functioning team of production associates.
Develop, coach, and provide guidance to team for increasing their business and production knowledge, skills and abilities. Provide on-going feedback regarding their performance as well as attainment of goals and objectives.
Monitor direct labor costs, product quality, personnel safety and indirect costs complying with all company and regulatory requirements..
Sets aggressive targets (financial and non-financial) for self and team in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
Reviews and reacts to ongoing data collection (SPC charts, etc.) to ensure timely decisions are made regarding product quality and cost.
Analyze and allocate human resources based on production needs, quantity and quality, ensuring that each team member’s skills are utilized
Develops, maintains and posts a list of visual key-performance-indicators to track productivity, quality, sanitation/housekeeping and safety. Identify and eliminate safety/health risks.
Ensures that there is a safe work environment for all employees and that safe work practices are followed at all times.
Coordinates the on-floor inventory levels in production with warehousing personnel.
Prepares daily paperwork and enters production data into system as required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Two year college degree required; bachelors Degree in Industrial Management, Business, Operations or other closely related field preferred.
Must have a minimum of 5 years prior production supervision experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is a huge plus.
Experience with refrigerated/frozen short lead time/short shelf life food products.
Strong technical and business knowledge to support and drive step-function improvement across production.
Requisite leadership skills and experience to thoroughly develop and challenge the organization to achieve high performance. Proven ability to lead cultural change.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have basic personal computer skills.
