Description

The candidate will manage the third shift (11:30 pm - 7:30 am) in conjunction with another manager.

The manager will have 1-2 supervisors and a staff of 50+, made up primarily of permanent employees with about 10-20% temporary staff. This position has a 12% Shift Differential Premium. • The manager is responsible for managing the shift with a colleague manager and solo once a week and during vacations. • Required to train, coach and counsel staff and hold staff meetings. • The 3rd shift team has 3 supervisors and approximately 90 staff. During peak season, that can grow by 10-30 additional temps. • The manager has oversight responsibility for the functions and people, including managing scheduling and controlling all aspects of processing including compliance, metrics, audit and individual development. • Coordinates activities with the Site Head and other Managers and participates in internal and external tours and meetings. • The manager must maintain relationships with couriers, the post office, security and equipment vendors. • All aspects of production are managed by the 3rd shift management team including premises, human resources, security and technology - the challenge is that the support is generally on-call or next day • 3rd Shift is often responsible for initiating new process changes and closes out the processing date as well as starting the new processing date. Escalation skills are key, but the ability to work with ambiguous conditions is also important. • Operations Management is fast paced, high stress position and the candidate should recognize the challenges the position and career present. • Public Sector Operations is primarily comprised of application processing and payments, but the organization maintains its flexibility to ensure that it moves in the direction of new technologies and capabilities. Therefore, the candidate must be flexible to learn new skills and to assume additional responsibilities in an environment that considers satisfying customer needs as the key factor in success.

Creating a positive work environment, managing diverse resources, developing entry-level staff, closely monitoring performance to achieve the highest results. Working off shift can be challenging as answers are delayed and access to key personnel is limited. The candidate should clearly understand that they will be expected to attend meetings during the day that are critical to the business or their development. Qualifications
Qualifications

The candidate must successfully complete an extensive background screening and treasury file process.

  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent Residency (green card) is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of operations experience within a financial industry
  • 4 years of management or supervisory experience
  • Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and superior verbal & written communication skills
Strong computer and software skills (firm specific applications, MS suite)
  • Strong people management skills (interviewing, coaching, training, career development)
  • Team player able to work with peers across the organization and industry
