Low-Power Design Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Job Description:

We are actively seeking design and design management candidates for the low-power implementation team. In this role you will be responsible for researching power expenditures and workload efficiency to identify architectural, micro-architectural and implementation strategies to optimize power, performance, area and features. You will work with design and verification teams to support the implementation and productization of these solutions into wireless communications chips and front-end design flows. Only candidates with demonstrated experience leading and participating in the design of low-power and high-speed designs on digital ASICs will be considered for these roles.

Responsibilities:

o Research power expenditures and workload efficiency to identify architectural, micro-architectural and implementation strategies to optimize for power, performance and area.
o Evaluate new low-power technologies and analyze their applications to address requirements.

o Perform RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis. o Oversee project schedules, deliverables and documentation. o Provide feedback for low-power chip and system architecture. o Understand and perform block & chip-level power analysis. o Understand and create block-level power models. o Manage and cultivate engineering talent. Skills / Experience: o Understanding of electrical engineering concepts, circuit analysis and logic design skills. o Familiarity with advanced low power techniques and high speed clocking desired. o 3-10 years experience doing low power digital ASIC design. o Programming languages: VHDL, Verilog, Perl, C, C++, C-shell, UNIX. o Tool Familiarity: Power Artist, PTPX, Synopsys Design Compiler, and simulation. o Ability to communicate clearly, explain and present complex ideas, organize effectively, lead cross-functional technical teams, and develop engineering talent.

o Education: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
