The Business Analyst position combines consulting skills, business analysis skills, and SharePoint skills so that they can interpret business requirements and offer a solution. This role should have a fundamental understanding of SharePoint services, be extremely customer facing, and a good presenter. The role needs to judge the best services to use in SharePoint, and advise the business sponsor accordingly. Strong communication and customer service skills will be required for frequent interactions with non-technical groups, bridging the gap between the business and IT.
Detail oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills. The individual will be providing functional and technical solutions to the customer. The individual will be interacting with customers of varying SharePoint knowledge from business process owners to developers to architects. The individual will conduct sessions and educate the customers with the capabilities of SharePoint and how best SharePoint can be used to materialize the business requirements.
Communicate Conceptual and Detail Designs to Client and Development Team.
Strong customer interaction skills and ability to understand and document customer needs from a business solutions perspective.
Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers, having a high degree of contact with others at all levels.
Critical thinking, problem solving, and design.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects.
Examine existing business processes, understand what the business does, how it operates.
Identify gaps in processes, opportunities for improvements and automation.
Capture requirements, create mockups.
Generate technical requirements, proof of concept solutions.
Ability to write test scripts.
Help implement the new processes, features and tools.
Document requirements, improvements, measures, and solutions.
During upgrades and migrations communicate the schedule to Site Admins; coordinate testing with the Site Admins; work to resolve migration problems, either through coaching on solutions for common problems or working with IT SharePoint Team to develop fixes.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years related experience. Excellent computer software skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to consult and interpret business requirements and offer a solution using SharePoint features.
Ability to Analyze complex Business and Process Flows, generate alternatives, and identify the best solution.

Understanding of testing processes & planning.

Experience with a SharePoint upgrade to 2010 a plus.
