Would you like the chance to gain valuable athletic training experience as the head certified athletic trainer in charge of your own sports while earning your Master's degree? Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota is currently accepting applications for two graduate assistant athletic trainer positions to assist with the athletic training coverage of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division III level. The specific sport assignments for these two positions includes: being the head athletic trainer for the men's soccer team in the fall and the men's basketball team in the winter while assisting the head athletic trainer with the baseball team in the spring or assisting the head athletic trainer with the football team in the fall and being the head athletic trainer for the wrestling team in the winter while assisting with the men's track team in the spring. The position includes $5,000 for graduate tuition expenses/fees at St.

Cloud State University (in-state tuition available) and an $11,000 stipend (total package equals $16,000/year) . This is a 9-month position starting August 15, 2011 that is renewable for an additional year based on performance and approval of the head athletic trainer. The GA position also includes payment of the MN Athletic Training Registration fees. There is also the possibility to earn additional money covering local high school football, hockey, soccer, and basketball games along with other events through the St.

Cloud Orthopedic Associate clinic throughout the year. Graduate assistants at SJU are given the responsibility to manage every aspect of the athletic training needs for the student-athletes on the teams that they are assigned to work and travel with during the year. The head athletic trainer and the team physician are available to supervise and advise the GA's as they gain valuable independent decision-making experiences while working with their teams. Graduate assistant athletic trainers are recognized as members of the SJU athletic department staff and their skills, contributions, and energy is extremely valuable as SJU pursues conference and national championship each year in every sport.
