Include, but are not limited to the following: Work with the HSET Manager and Director to provide field HSE support on TAPS. As needed help write HSE policies, programs, plans and schedules. Conducts "needs analysis" studies and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs on onsite personnel. Must be willing and able to lead and educate employees in safe work ethics, practices, and behaviors. Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Works with field location managers to ensure that all regulatory, client and HCC policies and procedures are adhered to. The candidate must understand the use of Industrial Hygiene instruments used to gather qualitative and quantitative information. Candidate must be able to use these instruments in the issuance of hot work, unit work, and confined space entries. Candidate must have a basic understanding of numerous job tasks and a working understanding of how individual craft employee's safety ties into each job. Must have a working knowledge of incident review, investigation and implementation of corrective actions. Leads investigation of incidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and reports. Compiles and submits incident reports. Must have a working knowledge of computer databases including Microsoft Office, Windows NT, and be able to adapt to existing databases. Must be able to effectively use written and verbal communication skills. Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs. Maintains safety files and records. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Prefer at least five years experience as safety specialist, with North Slope experience, preferably within the Trans Alaska Pipeline System. Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows NT, and be able to adapt to existing databases. Must be able to communicate, verbally and in writing, with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Required a Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university, preferably in an HSE related field. Current Valid Driver's License. Required that the candidate to have HSE related credentials such as: ASP, CSP, CIH, OHST, CHST, etc. Required to obtain a TWIC card or already have one.
