Reporting to the Director, Account Management, explore this exciting opportunity at Aclara where the successful candidate will be the primary business contact for assigned existing customers and is responsible for the success of that account. The Account Manager is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as to represent customers’ needs and goals within Aclara. The Account Manager builds relationships with customers to encourage new and repeat business opportunities and has the responsibility to drive all follow-on sales to customers by understanding their needs. This position requires regular travel to meet with customers.

Essential functions & responsibilities of the Account Manager include:
  • As the face of Aclara, provide primary strategic account ownership for assigned existing customers
  • Develop strong professional relationships with key individuals and top decision makers at assigned accounts
  • Understand assigned accounts’ plans, desires, and needs. Develop an Account Plan for each assigned account which identifies strategies to properly support and up-sell each account
  • Forecast and capture follow-on sales (up-selling) to existing accounts. Note that this requires coordination with Aclara Distributors and/or Manufacturer’s Representatives depending on Aclara’s go-to-market channel. Maintain current account and up-sell opportunity information in Salesforce.com
  • Meet or exceed assigned annual Sales quotas
  • Stay abreast of customer issues and resolution while relying on other departments within Aclara to drive resolution of any issues that negatively impact assigned customers. At a very high level, coordinate Aclara personnel in support of customer issue resolution. Communicate issue status and resolution to assigned customers
  • Appropriately balance customer satisfaction with financial implications to Aclara
  • Communicate, as appropriate, all product issues, product enhancements, product roadmap changes, and sales campaigns
  • Coordinate successful kickoff and start-up of new accounts along with Deployment Managers, as required
  • Follow all established Account Management processes and procedures
  • Review all major deliverables to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met
  • Communicate assigned customers’ goals and represent the customers’ interests within Aclara
  • Provide regular two-way communication between assigned customers and Aclara personnel, to provide strong team representation and set proper customer expectations
  • Understand the functionality of Aclara products and services to maximize Aclara’s value to the customer and effectively communicate all offerings to customers
  • Provide regular input and status on all account activity to the Director, Account Management as well as Aclara executive management
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Assist with resolution of late payment issues, as appropriate
