Tenure-track faculty position available August 17, 2012, in organic chemistry.
Responsibilities: teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in organic chemistry as well as teaching general chemistry; developing an active research program (in areas such as synthetic methodology, nanotechnology, environmental science, and bioorganic chemistry) that complements the department’s existing research programs and involves undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related area completed by August 17, 2012; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching; evidence of potential for excellence in research.
Preferred qualifications: postdoctoral research experience; teaching experience at the collegiate level, e.g., teaching assistant, instructor, assistant professor; research program in an experimental area, such as synthetic methodology, nanotechnology, environment science, and/or bioorganic which complements the department’s existing research programs.
