We are looking for a focused, energetic individual who is looking to start their career in one of the diverse AT&T Network Planning & Engineering fields. The initial assignment for position is essential in the compilation and generation of critical NP&E network performance reports, weekly and monthly metric dashboards, and special studies. Also, provides project management functions towards the design, preparation of requirements, development, programming, testing, and implementation of models in support of network components, capital projects, and new metrics for growth areas of the business.
This position is an entry level, non-trainee engineer working on a variety of routine engineering activities under close guidance and direction from more experienced engineers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Assists more experienced engineers and performs field tests on networks under close direction. Performs engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks
Job Contribution: Technical support role. Organizes/completes structured assignments per predefined priorities. Limited team impact.
The Antenna Solutions Group (ASG) Technical Project Manager leads specific assigned projects from inception through completion. May support Project Managers, Program Managers Regional and National leadership in specific areas including but not limited to: project execution, scheduling management, financial management, project/program management in addition but not limited to regional reporting management, risk management, regional program metrics (cost, cycle time, quality).
Ensures network process capability, control and improvement by implementing procedures and interpreting network standards.
This highly visible role has the Technical Project Manager representing the Regional Project Management Team, in leading the Regional team to success, handling National issues, progress and performance related to DAS execution and solution delivery and reports to Director of Project Management.
The Technical Project Manager leads issues and resolution of issues to obtain understanding of both National and Regional policies and procedures for regional and other ASG functional groups, as well as specific regionally managed project scopes and objectives. Completes moderately complex work within discipline/specialty area. Contributes to development of concepts/methods/techniques. Strong analytical and as well as technical knowledge within the DAS Solution delivery project functions are required and utilized in the performance of the job. Cross-functional collaborator, decision maker and tenured skills with software packages such as Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, internal tools, etc. are required. There is also heavy interaction with databases used in tracking project information.
INDEPENDENCE Guided by project and work deadlines; sets own priorities. Uses discretion to complete assignments; independently applies knowledge of technical practices and specialty area standards. Independently completes assignments; participates in diverse projects.
CONTRIBUTION TO ATT TECHNOLOGY Leads defined technical initiatives normally as part of a larger project. Contributes to milestone project completion.
COMMUNICATION Exchanges complex technical information. Provides training/guidance to others in work area breaking down information in a systematic/logical manner. Cultivates good peer working relationships. Communicates effectively with the teams they support.
Education: Typically a BS degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent related network experience.
Experience: Typically 1-3 years of technical experience with understanding of Network processes.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
40% Leading and Managing multiple small sized projects or initiatives of moderate technical complexity
30 % Representing the Regional PM team and providing input and guidance to support the development of National quality/processes and procedures; leading the implementation of National processes/procedures within the region recommending improvements or modifications to the regional and National business processes
15% Leading, tracking and reporting of regional and project budgets, revenue/unit tracking and performance to plan
5% Developing, tracking and reporting on Project Manager and/or Project specific, performance and metrics;
- 10% Communication Lead for weekly monthly market and program review. Is the voice of PjM for the Region and for their projects
Training and Special Skills:
Ability to build and foster strong, collaborative relationships
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience in process definition and documentation
Project management software experience (i.e. Microsoft Project, P3e or comparable)
