Provides direction and leadership for the overall administration and coordination of the Instructional Technology program in a large school system with a diverse student population

Job Summary:
Provides direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive instructional technology program

Participates in the development and execution of a District-wide technology strategic plan

Provides leadership to the curriculum and school staff in the selection of instructional software and hardware to support instructional goals

Monitors the goals and objectives of broadcast/distance learning, growth/refresh, IT training, and virtual schools

Works closely with the Professional Learning Center to offer educational resources for schools

Assesses the impact of Instructional Technology within the curriculum, reviews and evaluates the results, and recommends appropriate modification to ensure efforts are having a positive effect on student achievement

Coordinates with the Chief Information Officer to research emerging technologies for potential pilot and implementation in appropriate school settings

Gathers input from the schools and provides direction and leadership on a regular basis through meeting with school-based technology specialists

Coordinates instructional technology policies and implements procedures as developed and approved

Assists the Principals in the hiring and evaluation of technology specialists

Serves as the liaison between the schools and central administration

Maintains an active and productive relationship with the Georgia Department of Education and the regional Educational Technology Training Center

Participates in professional organizations and attends professional conferences and training classes in instructional technology

Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred

Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Leadership Certification and/or Support License

Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, instructional software, program evaluation and staff development

Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate, and provide leadership which results in the best environment

Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues

Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively

Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple, or complex

Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives

Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities

Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information

Must be skilled in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Required Experience:
Minimum 7 years experience in curriculum development, instructional software, program evaluation, and/or staff development with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required

Salary Information:
Salary Range

$77,667.00 - $94,232.00

Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 7 years (Step 8) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule B-235, Executive Scale, Step 1 - Step 8.
