Network Hardware Engineer
Job Description: Performs network product design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems including development of new products and/or updates to existing products. Work may encompass one or several areas of engineering including electronic design, mechanical design, reliability engineering, or other related fields. Duties may include research, evaluation, development and application of new processes and methods into network products. May be responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets and schedules, and documentation of work and results.
The successful candidate will join Intel Network Division and work with senior engineers in the development of optical and copper Network Interface Cards. These products, and the support Intel provides, generate profits and are key to the success of current and next generation Intel platforms for major PC OEMs. Ability to work and contribute in a cross-functional product team - marketing, manufacturing, customer support, test, etc - understands deliverables, contribute to HW schedule and communicate regular status. Ability to create clear complete documentation (specifications, test plans, test reports). Knowledge of designing, debugging and bringing to production high-speed circuit boards containing analog I/O, PCI, PCI-X, PCI-E, Ethernet physical layer interfaces - both fiber and copper - up to 10Gbps helpful. Knowledge of designing PC add-in cards, especially with copper Ethernet interfaces, to meet Intel DFM/DFT, US and international regulatory requirements. Ideally the candidate will have knowledge of simulating circuit boards using tools such as SPICE or Hyperlynx very desirable.
