The HVAC Outlet Engineer will be responsible for leading the supplier team to design and develop outlets that will meet the design, performance and packaging requirements. The Engineer will develop engineering specifications and requirements for outlets. Lead off-shore team to design and perform CFD analysis of outlets that will meet airflow performance requirements. As co-design responsible, the Engineer will have to work with the Product Design Office, IP group and outlet suppliers to design and develop instrument panel and rear console outlets that will meet all performance, appearance, and fit and finish requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • 6 years of engineering experience
  • 5 years' experience in design and development of outlets
  • Experience in outlets design, establishing performance and functional requirements, kinematics and parametric modeling
  • Experience in bezel design, color, texture and plastic coating and finishes
  • Experience managing a program from concept to manufacturing to production implementation
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office
  • 5 years' experience with NX and Team Center
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
  • Self-starter and motivated to produce results
  • Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Experience in HVAC, IP and ducts design
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
  • Basic knowledge in thermodynamics
  • Experience with Chrysler AAR (Appearance Approval Requirement) process
