Identifies and pulls cases and instruments for surgical cases.
Returns used supplies and instruments to proper places.
Decontaminates equipment according to procedure.
Unloads stock in case carts and instrument room.
Receives and processes surgical instruments.
Receives and processes other instruments from various departments including OB, ER, Cath Lab, GI, X-Ray and
Works with computer systems and PICIS.
Reads surgical schedules to assist OR where instruments would be.
Follows the count sheet to put instrument sets together.
Reads and records biologicals.
Work toward Processing and Instrument Tech certification within one year of job.
High school or equivalent.
Able to read labels, stock list, instrument lists.
Able to write equipment log.
One year experience in Sterile Processing Department.
CSPT (certified sterile processing tech) within three years of hire into this position.
Certification/registration C.S. technician.
College level courses.
Previous operating room or central supply processing experience.
