Conestoga Tile is a 53 year old wholesale ceramic tile distribution company looking for a Counter Sales/Customer Service Representative for our Linthicum, MD service centers contractor counter to enter orders, process pick-up orders and field technical questions. No ceramic tile experience is necessary. This position also requires the candidate be comfortable assisting both end users and contractors in our beautiful ceramic tile selection center. Must be able to work in a warehouse environment and drive a forklift (we will train you). Must be able to lift 75 lbs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:Must be able to convert incoming order inquiries into sales and 'up-sell' complementary products Take and enter customer orders, follow up on customers sales orders, expedite with Purchasing and Shipping departments as necessaryResolution of customer and supplier inquiries and forwarding to proper channelsCommunicates effectively with customers, sales representatives, managers, drivers, and other internal personnelTakes complete ownership of all orders from beginning to endDevelop and maintain relationships with customer baseEffectively uses the telephone to present a quality-oriented image where every customer is treated in a consistent, courteous, and efficient mannerAnticipates problems and acts pro-actively to solve themParticipate in training programs to support our customers needs and employee product knowledgeEnsures all customers computer information is accurate and up to date Meets or exceeds total service needs of customers. Takes steps to alleviate issues and improve service efficiencyProvides back up support to other CSRs on the team to eliminate any customer hold time.Is a positive role model for other team members providing support and enthusiasmIdentify and resolve customer/carrier/vendor issues regarding daily transactional itemsThe ability to promote customer satisfaction is a mustAbility to learn new and existing computer applications Resolving problems and building a solid working relationship with all customers in order understand their total service needsMaintain a professional and pleasant rapport with customersCommunicate possible conflicts or problems to customer. Qualified candidates must have the following: High school diploma, 3-5 years customer service experience, with excellent internal and external customer focus skills. A proven track record in resolving account disputes with customer courtesy. Clear and effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate and resolve problems effectively with discretion and diplomacy. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while working in a highly organized manner. Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentPrior knowledge of distribution or flooring industry is a plus.
