Though police officers, firefighters and ambulance personnel are all more commonly thought of as life savers, lifeguards are no less important in helping to save lives each and every day! Because so many families rely upon the YMCA each year to help them learn how to swim or get in shape, the YMCA is looking for Lifeguards to help safely supervise our members and if necessary- save lives! In addition to enforcing safety policies and being able to perform lifesaving measures when needed, Lifeguards are also asked to model YMCA principles and policies at all times. Qualifications include*: Must meet minimum requirements of the job. Applicant must be available to work during weekdays, day time hours.
High School diploma required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
First Aid and CPR certification.
YMCA, Red Cross or other nationally recognized Lifeguard certifications required.
Successful completion of in-water swimming and skills test required.
Ideally has experience in customer service, aquatics, and in supervising children.
