Investors Title is a dynamic and growing title insurance and financial services company based in Chapel Hill, NC. We are looking for a motivated and capable professional to join our corporate leadership team as Senior Business Analyst and drive the company’s technology strategy.

As a Senior BA, you will identify gaps in necessary knowledge and skills, and take the lead on implementing processes to bring the entire team up to same level of understanding and training. You must possess a strong understanding of the roles within a cross functional team and how you can bring your skills and experience to support these roles. As a key contributor, you proactively work with the Project Manager to plan for the project, identify project risks and develop strategies that will ensure the success of the project team.

You have the insight to fully understand the experience and skill level of team members and customize communications to be most effective with each audience. As a Sr. Business Analyst, you instinctively guide business partners to dig deep for the real business needs that a technology solution will address, rather than taking requirements at face value.
Experienced Technology Professional who has the knowledge to apply best software development practices to develop high quality and comprehensive technology solutions. You are instrumental in improving the software development artifacts and processes to meet key Engineering and organizational objectives. As an experienced BA, you are comfortable “translating” business needs so that it is easily understood by technical project team members.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education : BS/BA degree in an appropriate field, or else equivalent experience, along with 5+ years of business analysis experience
Significant experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative software engineering environment.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you must have:
Guided a cross-functional team towards proper refinement of requirements and understanding that effectively captures business requirements.
Through a collaborative effort, created, refined and orchestrated approval of business analysis artifacts, such as Use Cases, User Manuals and Nonfunctional requirements.
Educated cross functional team members on the best practices and processes that will guide the software development process and their contribution to it.
Delighted your customers, from executives to individual contributors, with great service, clear and concise communications, and the confidence that have a solid understanding of the key business drivers.
Expert knowledge in the techniques discussed in the book “Mastering the Requirements Process,” by Suzanne and James Robertson or else ready to learn the techniques to modify your current approach.
Proven success communicating project details with both business and technical team members, which has included acting as a “translator” to ensure that there is seamless transfer of information across the project team.
Been successful in managing the business analysis process within both Waterfall and Agile software development project for custom development or configuration of commercial software packages.
Enthusiasm for and experience mentoring junior team members.
Personal experience with accounting and financial business functions/ software.
Personal experience working with insurance, real estate, mortgage banking business functions/ software.
Excellent ability to analyze and document workflow, develop time motion studies, and improve processing efficiencies.
Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programing and Services Oriented Architectures, needed to support a high paced software development team.
Experience working in multiple roles in the software development process from business analysis to development to quality assurance.
Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operational requirements and system goals and identify and resolve system issues.
Create a system for business reviews that provide an appropriate level of visibility into the requirements and the product development cycle.
Lead requirements gathering and design sessions with focus groups for new systems with the purpose of enhancing business processes and operational and information process flow.
Refine customer driven requirements focusing on solutions that deliver the most strategic value to our customers at the right cost.
Develop and communicate business analysis artifacts, including Use Cases, User Manuals, Nonfunctional Requirements, Wireframes and supporting meeting materials.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measurable actions.
Prepare and deliver reports and make process improvement recommendations for existing systems and potential trouble areas in systems across the organization.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Continually monitor technology advancements and industry software and conduct research of software products to identify potential business solutions and to justify recommendations to support purchasing efforts.
Develops project delivery requirements, task estimates, and project delivery dates.
Closely collaborate with the Project Manager, Quality Assurance, Software Development and Infrastructure to ensure that the delivered products exceed customer expectations.
Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members in quality business analysis practice, as well as to take positive action and accountability for their work.
