Tax & Customs Process Design/Implementation Consultant. Cargill, Incorporated seeks Tax & Customs Process Design/Implementation Consultant based in Hopkins, MN. Duties include: Examine, analyze, and interpret global accounting record systems. Install and advise on systems of recording financial and budgetary data such as indirect tax calculations in commodity trading. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems. Responsible for development and review of budgets, the performance of financial and management accounting, the generation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, the performance of tax and customs planning and reporting, and the development of strategy and policies to enable these processes. Utilize knowledge of international standards in financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, indirect tax practices, and customs regulations to support development of comprehensive process strategy (Tartan initiative). Work includes use of international tax technical assessments, indirect tax compliance, Value Added Tax determinations in Europe and Latin America, custom duties, and tariff requirements in trading agricultural products. Responsible for gathering and understanding business requirements, analyzing local design needs and evaluating indirect tax and customs processes. Validate and translate business requirements into cohesive, integrated and effective software development specifications. Execute process implementation and design deliverables during pre-deployment, solution evaluation, design, testing and production support. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, solution design and system configuration, test script development, execution and validation, training material development and delivery, as well as system, function and business unit support. Enable integration of all major process areas including data, education and security by communicating within and across design, software development, implementation and system users to ensure that design satisfies local requirements in the tax and customs functional areas. Ensure that quality designs are developed and implemented to satisfy business and function requirements by resolving and/or escalating issues as needed to deliver a quality solution.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Accounting. A qualified candidate must have at least 7 years of tax consulting experience, including experience with international taxation technical assessments and indirect tax compliance; must have tax compliance experience in Value Added Tax determinations in Europe and Latin America, customs duties, and tariff requirements in trading agricultural products; and, must have experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
