The Associate Director for Student Development and Special Projects reports to the Associate Dean for Honors in the College of Arts and Sciences. It provides leadership in building a strong sense of community among students, faculty, alumni, parents, and friends of Honors Carolina. It also provides direction in developing, implementing, and supervising co-curricular initiatives that support active learning outside the classroom and connect high-achieving students to the distinctive resources available to them at a research university. The position is responsible for managing the budget allocated for activities under its purview and for annual assessment of those activities. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the position functions as Honors Carolina’s liaison to faculty, staff, and administrative partners across the Carolina campus.

Educational Requirements
MA or other advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred)

Qualifications and Experience
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies and across of range of disciplinary and programmatic interests. Experience with program development in an academic setting preferred.
