Web Designer/Developer works as part of the Web Communications and Development team, using specialized software and applications to develop, design, and maintain the Board's intranet websites. Handles multiple projects of moderate size and complexity. Provides regular support and maintenance for the Board's public website (PubWeb). Consults with clients and provides input and recommendations to management on the design of web communications. Uses analytical skills to identify problems and suggest solutions.

Position Requirements

Position requires two years of experience in the construction and build-out of functional, W3C valid, Section 508 compliant websites. A thorough understanding of coding best practices and solid working knowledge of the creative process from initial concept to final build-out and implementation is expected. Must be able to effectively translate Photoshop mockups into well-structured HTML/CSS code, utilizing Dreamweaver templates and libraries.

Technical skills should include working knowledge of HTML/CSS languages, best practices of those languages across multiple browsers and platforms and an excellent understanding of web standards (W3C), and Section 508/accessibility concepts. Candidate should also possess solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Product Suite, especially Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Knowledge of Jquery, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, XML/XLST, MySQL or Cold Fusion, in addition to the skills
above is a plus.
