The Accounting Assistant I position for the Keystone Foods USA Proteins Headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama is responsible for routine clerical duties, including data input, verification, and processing of accounting documents such as purchase orders, receipts, invoices, etc. and other duties that may be required to support division accounting management. This position provides assistance and support in maintaining accounting information and processes in order to support the company's operational objectives.

Major duties and responsibilities includeAccurately input vendor invoice information, verify the purchase order, receipt, and invoice data match, and prepare payment for processing.

Complete new vendor forms and submit for approval.

Compile and summarize sales tax information used to prepare State Sales Tax Returns.

Compile and summarize monthly accrual information for items received, but not invoiced.

Work with location Supply Chain management to resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.

Monitor A/P balances and notifies the Accounting Supervisor of any aged balances that require further investigation.

The ideal candidateHigh school diploma or equivalency required

1 – 2 years of A/P experience preferred

Good organizational skills

Good keyboarding skills (speed and accuracy)

Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
