The Product Engineer will provide support and best practices for manufacturing services.
High Level Roles & Responsibilities
Applies sound Project Management skills in the areas of Resource, Time, Risk, Quality, Communication, and Procurement Management.
Must have full understanding and embrace Lean, Six Sigma, Df(x) methodologies, as well as IPC Class-3/J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
Must demonstrate flexibility, self-direction, and self-discipline to plan and accomplish objectives and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
Must demonstrate knowledge of machine and tool operations, assembly, inspection and quality control procedures, and interpretation of drawings and specifications with respect to electronics manufacturing.
Prepares detailed reports, flow diagrams, charts and other documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing production data and trends
Leads or Participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives using the 6-sigma DMAIC process
Recommends and leads change initiatives in manufacturing methods and/or techniques, systems, and procedures to reduce manufacturing costs
Prepares Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) labor and tooling estimates for new quotes, as required
Participates in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Works closely with Production Supervisors and Quality Engineers to review and monitor quality and process improvements
Makes recommendations to management team regarding equipment requirements or improvements
Supports the development of a safe, ergonomic, and environmentally sound workplace.
Responsible for processing DFM requests using Valor and Silicon Expert software.
Technical Skills
Strong mechanical and electronics knowledge and experience
Minimum three (3) years experience in Electronics Manufacturing
Lean/Six Sigma Methodology
Disciplined problem solving approach
Experience in Project Leadership skills
Requires a B.S. degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
