POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical/ Maintenance Project Engineer leads electrical and utility efforts with direct daily involvement in the planning/coordinating of these efforts with other functional groups and maintenance shifts. This position provides technical support to all electrical and project activities within the plant. This position has a strong emphasis on project management, team development and asset optimization, developing and implementing cost effective maintenance strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads day to day activities in the electrical shop
Leads/participates on improvement teams
Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities
Development of job specific procedures
Assists in maintaining and improving preventative/predictive maintenance programs
Utilize SAP system for purchasing and tracking
Insures compliance with all plant safety rules, operating procedures, and government regulations
Project Management including capital and plant shutdown projects
Conducts risk assessments for spare parts inventory, optimizing carrying costs
Conducts "root cause" failure analysis on chronic maintenance and repair issues
Willingness to work additional hours and to come in on off shifts when needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Electrical Engineering Degree
Minimum 5 years experience as a electrical/ project engineer with basic knowledge of all crafts
Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment
Working knowledge of PLC functions
Advanced problem solving, facilitation and project management skills
Strong working knowledge of utility systems (steam, cooling water, compressed air, water treatment and electrical power systems)
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices
Ability to develop training programs, job procedures and perform training as required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership abilities and experience supervising maintenance employees
Experience in a union environment
SAP experience
AutoCAD
Knowledge of PLC programming
Demonstrated ability improving preventative/ predictive industrial maintenance programs
Experience working in a High Performance Work Team environment
