The Clinic Receptionist is responsible for answering and routing incoming calls and pleasantly greeting patients, visitors and family members. This position is responsible for the day to day scheduling of appointments and maintains a daily log of physicians in/out schedules. Assures patients information sheets are completed in their entirety and verifies the information every time the patient presents to the office for an appointment. Accurately enters patient demographic information into the billing program. Copies the front and back of patients insurance card(s) every visit. Is responsible for verifying Medicaid and RMPH Medicaid eligibility each time the patient presents to the office. Records incoming payments and distributes to the billing office. Is responsible for collecting co pays and payments for self pay accounts. Calls to confirm daily appointments. Maintains patients medical record that includes timely filling medical record requests. Is also responsible for inventory of front office supplies. Assists with special projects as necessary.
A. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
B. Must have the ability to read, write and follow instructions.
C. Typing, filing skills, and computer knowledge required.
D. Previous experience in a Physician Office setting preferred.
E. Works effectively with patients, physicians, physician office personnel, and department personnel.
F. Must be able to work efficiently with frequent interruptions.
