Analyze customer requirements; develop mechanical concepts based on the customer specifications. Discuss those concepts with the customer as well as internal groups. Perform mechanical design reviews. Take the lead during mechanical DFMEA's. Initiate design verifications testing. Coordinate the sample build of mechanical assemblies in the development phase. Work closely with the electrical engineer for integration and trouble-shooting of prototypes and samples as well as the PCB layouter. Development of plastic and metal components.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Proficient with at least one CAD program ideally Pro/E or Catia V5. Familiar with the requirements of injection molding and the tooling of plastic components, mechanical automotive testing.
Experience required in the design and development of automotive interior components, project work within a project team. Experience in leading a team of engineers through the course of a design and development project.
Note: Product focus will be on interior center stack switches and rotaries (radio controls, climate controls, etc.). Any experience in this area will be highly valued.
