Mylan Technologies (MTI) is looking for a qualified candidate to join the Maintenance Department at our St. Albans, Vermont facility as an Instrumentation and Controls Specialist, 1st shift. The Specialist will diagnose and resolve electrical problems on all production lines. This shall include maintaining, repairing, and installing all plant electrical or PLC machinery systems. Specifically, the Specialist will perform electrical/electronic maintenance, repair, design and installation as required and ensure that all repairs and modifications are performed correctly. Additionally, the Specialist will install, program, and troubleshoot PLC’s and Variable Speed Drives including servo systems; diagnose electrical machine problems, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions; perform electrical validation requirements which includes IQ, OQ, and PQ, of systems and equipment, and ensure that all repairs and modifications are performed correctly. The Specialist will also prepare appropriate material requisitions for new electrical installations and general repairs; assist with training of Electrical Maintenance personnel; and coordinate with contractors to specify work and to integrate equipment or systems. The Specialist will perform job functions in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A knowledge & ability to foresee, diagnose and resolve problems, and the mechanical ability to work on production equipment. Must possess knowledge of packaging or process equipment, PLC’s, machine sensors and basic electricity. Must adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures as well as government regulations. Requires understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective written and oral communication skills. Must have good interpersonal skills and be a self-starter. Must possess ability to read and understand electrical schematics, technical manuals to maintain equipment as per manufactures directions, identify and order replacement parts. Must possess ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity.
A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent and completed apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical / Electronics or related field with five years or 12,000 hours experience in industrial electronic controls.
VT State Electrician’s License Required.
